Can You Help Police Find This Scumbag?

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a man at V Festival, Chelmsford on the last day of the festival.

The incident took place between 4pm and 8pm on Sunday 23rd August in the Arena Stage tent. A 50-year-old from Chelmsford was punched in the face after asking a man to stop bothering a group of girls. When the victim fell to the floor the suspect jumped on the man’s left leg, breaking it in two places.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s of large build with short brown hair and a tanned complexion.

wristband4festivals would like to point out that this sort of assault at festivals occurs rarely, and hopes the scumbag who perpetrated the attack is caught. If anyone witnessed this assault, or has any information about the assault, they are asked to call Chelmsford CID on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The Chelmsford V Festival took place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August this year.

N-Dubz cancel Love Music Hate Racism Festival

3533060871_be893ea892It’s official – N-Dubz will no longer be playing Love Music Hate Racism at Britannia Stadium, Stoke-On-Trent, on Saturday 30th May.

There’s still no word as to why the band have pulled out, however the organisers have promised that “they will be making an announcement in the near future.

In the meantime, N-Dubz have self confirmed themselves for this years Virgin Media Festival in Weston Park and Hylands Park on Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd August 2009. See their Myspace page for more details.

V Festival line-up leaked

After a blunder at V HQ, the complete line up for V Festival was made available this morning, only to be taken down just hours later, saying to listen out for the official line up tomorrow.

However, as the more discerning internet users out there know, what has been seen, cannot be unseen. So without any further ado here are the latest additions to Virgin Mobile Festival’s line-up.

On Saturday at Weston Park and Sunday at Hylands Park, additions come from The King Blues, The Proclaimers, Daniel Merriweather, Natalie Imbruglia, Lemar, The Human League, with Gary Go, The Mystery Jets and Ladyhawke expected to be confirmed soon.

On Sunday at Weston Park and Saturday at Hylands Park, new additions come from Starsailor, Athlete, Red Light Company, Noisettes, Will Young, Calvin Harris and 2manydjs headlining The Arena. Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Pete Murray, and Phoenix are expected to be confirmed shortly, with rumours of The Sunshine Underground playing exclusively at the Weston Park leg of V.

Tickets have now sold out although viagogo, the official partners of several UK festivals have tickets available at a higher price.

Seasick Steve pulls out of V Festival

For those of you who were hoping to see the legendary rocker hobo, you’ll be sad to hear that he’s no longer playing the V Festival this year.

Speculation came after Seasick Steve was dropped from the V Festival site, and then his official website went down. He has now confirmed via the wonderous Myspace the reasons for his mysterious disappearance:

As some of you have noticed, Steve is no longer playing at V Festival. Steve and I want to convey are most sincere apologies to those that were hoping to see Steve at V. Unofficially, what happened is that the folks at V Festival reneged on their contract with Steve and he got bumped by Taylor Swift. SO, if you have any questions or complaints, please direct them at the V Festival organisers. Again, very sorry. -The Skunk =(

This adds to the speculations from some V fans that the festival is becoming more commercial, with the regular host of diverse acts being dropped for more ‘chart friendly’ acts.

This years V Festival takes place at Weston Park in Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

Little Boots self confirm Reading and Leeds Appearance

In a recent interview with NME.com Little Boots confirmed that she would be playing a host of UK Festivals this year, including Bestival, T In The Park, Reading and Leeds and Glastonbury. She also quashed rumours that she would be playing this years V Festival.

She also said that she hopes her early fans don’t think that she’s sold out as she’s gotten more popular.

Little Boots is now the second artist to confirm for the Reading and Leeds festivals alongside Kings of Leon.

Reading and Leeds festivals take place this year between the Bank Holiday weekend of Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August this year.

Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday 30th March at 7pm with the official line up and price details being made available only hours earlier.

Ladyhawke Self Confirms V Festival

According to her Myspace page the lady who’s taking the indie world by storm will be playing this years English leg of the V Festival.

Ladyhawke has named herself as playing Chelmsford on the Saturday and Staffordshire on the Sunday.

Although official sources have yet to confirm a second line-up announcement is due on the cards.

Ladyhawke will be joining Oasis, The Killers, Pendulum, Lily Allen, Razorlight, Elbow, The Streets, MGMT, The Wombats, The Ting Tings and many more.

This years event takes place between Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of August at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire.

Some tickets are still available.

The Killers and Oasis announced for V Festival

As announced an Absolute Radio’s website (15 minutes before the official announcement on the radio) Wristband can confirm this years line up for the English leg of the Virgin Media V Festival.

As already announced on Wristband, The Killers will be headlining along with Oasis.

They will be joined by Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow, James, Lily Allen, The Enemy, Pendulum, The Script, Biffy Clyro, The Ting Tings, Paolo Nutini, MGMT, Katy Perry, The Wombats, James Morrison, Peter Doherty, The Streets, Lady GaGa, Dizzee Rascal, Happy Mondays, Seasick Steve, Ocean Colour Scene and The Saturdays.

The weekend takes part from Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd August, at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday 6th March at 9am and a weekend with camping ticket is priced at £152.50.

Killers self confirm V Festival slot

As the rumours grow over who will be playing at this years English leg of the V Festival, it was only a matter of time before someone broke the silence.

Speaking to the Daily Star, The Killers bassist Mark Stoermer said: “We are indeed headlining the V Festival… We will have the biggest lighting show we’ve ever had – it costs twice as much as our last tour… When you’re playing big places you’ve got to give something to everyone, including the fans at the back. We’ve become more refined as a live act.”

V Festival 2009 takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park Staffs from Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd August.

Tickets go on sale for the festival on Friday 6th March.
